Engineering Internship

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

Reports to: Project Manager

Education requirements: Must be a current Junior, or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or similar program

Travel Requirements: This position requires a valid state-issued driver’s license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire.  Required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks.

Job Summary

XRI’s intern will utilize his/her creativity, skills, education, and ideas to assist the assigned department with projects, processes, and opportunities.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support XRI Engineers and Project Managers with calculations, analysis, reporting, and documentation
  • Create, review, and maintain technical documents
  • Provide support for project management and engineering project activities
  • Provide support for on-site water resource research and operations activities
  • Assist the Management Team with all aspects of the project process
  • Research potential project leads
  • Follow all HSE processes and procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit while operating a computer for an extended period
  • Able to stand and walk on concrete and uneven surfaces
  • Able to push, pull, lift, carry maximum weight 50lbs, repetitive wrist and hand movements
  • Frequent exposure to inclement weather, loud noises, dust, gas, and/or fumes
  • Able to operate a company vehicle

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in general business and engineering topics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong Technical writing (excel reports, presentations, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrate best in class professional integrity
  • Read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proactive, positive, strong work ethic, self-motivated and goal-oriented attitude
