Keeping Midland Beautiful

On March 31, XRI employees volunteered to keep their “spot” clean and beautiful as part of the Keep Midland Beautiful (KMB) program.

Volunteers included:

  • Gahndi Espino
  • TJ Arndt
  • Darren Thompson
  • Danny Skiff
  • Taylor McCoy
  • Russell Dickinson
  • Patrick Watrin
  • Frank Zator
  • Javier Gonzalez
  • Sarah Lujan
  • Edwin Alvarez
  • Leah Gonzalez
  • Daisy Roman
  • Logan James
  • Karen Townson (not pictured)

“Giving back to the community is important to us,” said Stephanie Henry, XRI’s Human Resources Manager. “This is where I live and work, and I, we, want to help Midland be the best it can be in
all aspects.”

Keep Midland Beautiful’s Adopt-A-Spot Program volunteers help keep Midland clean and beautiful. Volunteers clean an adopted spot at least two times a year for two years, and in return, receive city-wide recognition for their efforts. In addition, volunteers have access to cleanup equipment and supplies and  you can report your cleanup results online.

KMB wants everyone to be conscientious about not creating litter but it still exists. That’s what the Adopt-A-Spot Program is all about – picking up the litter dropped by other people.

It doesn’t sound like fun, but amazingly enough, it is. And keeping your “spot” clean is one of the most rewarding volunteer activities in which you can participate. When you look back over the area you cleaned in the previous hour or two, you will feel a deep sense of satisfaction and pride.
