Mechanic (MIDLAND, TEXAS)

Education requirements: Preferred mechanic experience

Travel Requirements: This position requires a valid state-issued driver’s license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire.  May be required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks.

Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to perform repairs, replacements, installations, or re-building of parts to restore truck(s) and machine engines to operation standards.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize resources, manuals, and diagrams to troubleshoot engines, engine fuel systems and transmissions
  • Complete testing and recalibrate equipment with meters and various devices
  • Operate overhead hoist, lift trucks, overhead cranes, and other aides to move and reposition parts for repair or relocation
  • Handle hand/power tools to remove, install, replace, disassemble/re-assemble, re-build, repair, and test equipment
  • Replace pumps, batteries, radiators, bearings, seals, wiring, solenoids, fuel lines, nozzles, tests float valves, glow plugs, alternators
  • Assist with overall regular maintenance such as inspections, oil changes, replacement filters, belts, coolants, hoses, and fuel systems
  • Complies with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as company policies

Physical Requirements

  • Able to kneel, bend, stand and walk on concrete and uneven surfaces
  • Able to go onto or underneath various equipment
  • Able to push, pull, lift, carry maximum weight 100lbs, repetitive wrist and hand movements
  • Frequent exposure to inclement weather, bright lights, loud noises, dust, gas, and/or fumes
  • Able to operate equipment and vehicles

Qualifications

  • Previous mechanic experience is a plus
  • Must be flexible to a changing work environment, available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Must be a team player, self-motivated and able to prioritize
