HOUSTON – May 4, 2021 – XRI Holdings, LLC (“XRI”), the leading full-cycle water management and produced water midstream company, shared today they have recently expanded a long-term water agreement with a leading E&P company in the Delaware Basin.
The increased agreement includes recycled and reused water and has the capability to save over 100,000 barrels per day or more than 35 million barrels per year of groundwater in Eddy County, New Mexico, over the next four years.
In addition, this contract aligns with the state of New Mexico’s environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) produced water visions.
Matt Gabriel, CEO, stated, “We’re excited about this partnership. Commissioning this permanent facility with our customer gives everyone involved significant wins. We provide full-cycle water management and advanced water technologies that are cost-effective for our customer. In addition, these new volume commitments align both companies with New Mexico’s ESG initiatives of saving and protecting the natural water resources and supporting them with reused and recycled produced water.”
“By aligning our sustainable water solutions in the Delaware Basin via recycled and reused produced water, customers can decrease the use of ground water and surface water,” said Chris Harich, XRI’s chief operating officer. “We’re providing environmentally responsible results by amplifying the ESG and operational flexibility along our 70-mile pipeline section.”
XRI’s systems effectively eliminate the need for produced water transport and disposal and freshwater sourcing, allowing operators to save at least 30 percent and up to 80 percent on water management costs.
This is just the first of many produced water recycling facility projects XRI has planned in New Mexico as it continues to make meaningful capital investments in recycling and sustainable infrastructure.
