Mechanical Inventory & Parts Specialist

Reports to: Maintenance Manager/Shop Manager

Education requirements: Position requires skills normally obtained through the completion of high school, GED, or equivalent. Industry experience is preferred. 5+ Years automotive repair experience is required: diagnostics, electrical, diesel (a plus but not required)

Travel Requirements: This position requires a valid state-issued driver’s license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. You may be required to drive a vehicle to and from various work sites.

Job Summary

Mechanical Inventory & Parts Specialist positions assist maintenance team in retrieving parts orders, bulk purchases and all other maintenance related delivery or pickup requests.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist maintenance team in retrieving parts orders, bulk purchases, and all other maintenance related delivery or pickup requests.
  • Inventory management: receive, store, and maintain all inventory parts within the Midland and Kermit shops.
  • Assist shop technicians in critical parts run.
  • Inbound parts receiving, verify quantities and sign off on receipts once verified.
  • Ability to unload and load parts off of trailers or trucks using a forklift.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, squat, or lie down while working.
  • Ability to work in seasonal temperatures: potentially extreme (hot and/or cold) weather.
  • Able to operate equipment and vehicles.


  • Must be TEAM oriented.
  • Has a basic to advance mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of using maintenance equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Read and write English.
  • Must have organizational and time-management skills.
